Phil Keoghan is working on a new travel special he’s looking to shoot around the South Island early this December. He’s going to be stopping in Karamea on Sunday, December 3rd during his trip and is looking for a bunch of runners to do a morning run with him for a segment.

About the show

BUCKiT with Phil Keoghan, is a smart, insightful, informative, gritty, unpredictable, personality driven travel show with a strong point of view that sets out to Inspire Wanderlust.  

 

For the premiere episode, Phil wants to encourage viewers to follow their family history as a way of planning an exciting, informative adventure.

 

Phil’s ancestors settled at the top of the South Island and the West Coast working as gold miners, boat builders, farmers and coal miners.

 

Following nuggets of his family history, he will start his journey in Nelson before heading to Collingwood, the Heaphy Track, Karamea, Ngakawau, Denniston, Westport, through the Buller Gorge to Reefton, Ahura, Stillwater, Greymouth, Arthur's Pass, Erehwon Station, Christchurch, Kaikoura, Blenheim and ending back in Nelson. 

 

When Phil leaves Karamea, a group of runners will lead him on his way out of town as he heads to his next destination.

 

Using the latest technology and a team of award-winning storytellers, he will put the audience in the heart of the action as his traveling companion. A celebration of unique travel experiences with New Zealand’s most intriguing characters. Mavericks, eccentrics, people breaking the mold … passionate people who epitomize what New Zealanders are all about. Locals who are eager to reveal their lives and amazing homeland in a compelling way.
